SYMMETRY / COMMODULATION
The paintings showcased by Beti Vervega in the exhibition titled “Re-Connect” at The Institute Gallery (Curator: Malina Ionescu) develop sound structures through nuanced chromatic vibration and are rich in harmonic chords subject to universal laws. Similar elements, ordered in repetitive formulas, create mandala images and weave architectures that draw us to contemplate them.
In front of the paintings signed by Beti Vervega we mentally and sensorial understand the conclusion “Le Rythme est partou” of a complex personality of Romanian culture, the aesthetician Matila C. Ghyka.
Monodic compositions, from the perspective of the drawn element, and veritable symphonies of color identify each canvas touched with grace by the painter for whom each element becomes a monad of a feeling that incorporates space, time, and memory.
With our eyes, we explore the pulsating life and reach the abstract emotion, the epidermis of a metaphysical universe subject to a timeless aesthetic, subject to the golden section, spiritual numerology.
The two-dimensional paintings have different shapes, some becoming object-like and articulated in installations that gravitate above the ground in a hovering similar to the flight of a bird.
The works interact compositionally and chromatically in a visual discourse that shapes a diorama we enter – a world of sound harmonies that we perceive synesthetically. The space is populated with affective feelings, mental states, and energy trails with their source in the world of vivid images that the artist creates meticulously and in total communion with the gesture of painting.
Beti Vervega thinks, feels, and elaborates her paintings as if they would be part of l’Ame du Monde.
